Deciding to be a dedicated and serious writer as opposed to the traditionally sought after professions like being a doctor,auditor or lawyer is certainly no small feat. Nothing short of ultimate rebellious declaration against the world at large and stepping voluntarily into the circle of alienation. Choosing the path that is far from glorified, quite thankless and lesser walked and taken for that of a starving artist. In reality it is not as romanticized as is made out to be in general.
One might as well hang a guitar, get tattooed, do a Mohawk and succeed to pass it up for a normal outlook but getting away with an aim to be a writer is a different matter altogether. It feels great to have known the people from their respective times who were the first ones in their fields to have the courage, strength and skills to have mastered the test of their time with distinction however such a feat is hardly expectant of the respective act since another person not only had already left the first eternal foot print on this moon but even walked all over, ran and even had thrown a party on it. Leaving no choice but to rely solely on one's talent, luck and infinite deposits of patience.
They say that the first murder is the most difficult. Once the prospect of killing one's self-esteem becomes a common event and thus acceptable.From here on repeating this ordeal on an ad-hoc basis simply transforms into a military drill like tanning and waxing simultaneously. Making the excruciating process of carrying of the first draft to a beta reader, editor, critique or even a friend for second opinions for chopping and cropping, deem all the more easier on otherwise very sensitive heart, mind, liver and guts.
Weather writing changes life of the writer is not so much as guaranteed as is the notion that it will change the life-style of the writer. A writer does not eat, sleeps, prays or loves without describing the situation with a thrill, suspense, romance, fantasy, tragedy, fiction, comedic and even in an autobiography mode inside their heads. There is no greater outcast to be found in the social circle as the creature who wishes to be identified as a writer and it is not always to be blamed on the evils of simple masses but rather on the eccentricities of the begrudged soul itself, for example attempting to paraphrase a cooking show with a comedic propensity or rewriting a property feud under the guise of an economy watch.
There are countless external facades when it comes to a writer and relations find it difficult to recognize and keep up with all the unknown combinations of moods based on the number and nature of fictional characters either to be read or to be written dwelling inside a writer’s head at the moment, similar to a shrewd method-actor tactics. Rhythmic emission of shock waves continue to blow away the spectator while the intrigue would keep them on their toes, nothing better could be suggested to describe the personality of an aspiring writer. No singular phenomenon is good enough to gag or tie down the wild imagination of a writer; at least on a long-term basis, no topic or matter of interest can ever be over debated, no rules and regulations strong enough to dictate their pen and no paycheck big enough to be counted as real money.
Most unfortunate poor souls got entangled unaware of the dangers of getting lost in the bottomless abyss of deep thinking by simply plunging into a book recommendation query with a closet writer. They lurk undetected among the harmless folks, camouflaged, eager and hungry waiting patiently for a careless intellectual to took their bait, hooked, hunted and bleed out every last drop of their wit.
Never expect a writer to have a 100 percent mental presence especially in a day to day routine. There is always a minimum of 15 different much more thriving and zealous topics, sanctioned in about 125 different scenarios, reeling back and forth in succession, crunching the time slots remarkably for a justified attention span. All menial tasks must be shifted to the subconscious so that the active space can be freed for far more important exercise of observation, deconstruction and storing of the world out and about i.e a random stranger dressed lavishly but with dirty shoes, a colleague talking non-stop with complete absence of mind, a child almost running to keep-up with their guardian, a pigeon looking for straws for his/her new nest or the cloudy sky at night hiding all the stars.
A fresh writer and a young writer are as contrasting beings as are an alien and a martian. The very idea and the very classification muddled and disfigured by media with each other to get away with their hidden agenda without coming off as offensive and a potential lawsuit recipient. Many write to feel young again while others write simply because they are young or very young. Most people have a lot to say to the world and a lot to tell about how they perceive the world but most people however do not have the time, energy or interest to listen to what someone else has to say albeit a successful writer. This very reason makes social media so addictive and attractive, people in general want to feel heard and admired even if by a small number of individuals and therefore all writers are essentially
